today

Today I'm not quite sure what's happening.
I don't have all the answers.
I wish I didn't need to know why.

So, I choose to come back to where I started. I will stay here in the good times and the hard times........ At the Cross.
I KNOW that my God is unchanging - I know His plans will not fail. He will never cease to amaze... This is my God and this is my declaration.

It's not all about me. I am not in charge. I have a future and I have a hope- Jesus.
Jesus, You are all I need.
This brings a smile to my face... You are always.
I love You.

Jesus

For every broken heart, for every man who bleeds. One man gave every drop of his life. He took up OUR infirmities and carried OUR diseases. He tookOUR punishment and gave us peace. And by His stripes we... are... healed.
For every murderer.
For every lie.
For all the sins that we have created - He bacame sin.
For every cutter.
For all our shame, Jesus, You were disfigured beyond recognition.
For every prideful man, He made Himself nothing, to free you from the grasp of self.

That's why the STORY is Jesus, the MESSAGE is Mercy, the CENTERPIECE is Savior, the POWER is Forever, and the FRUIT is Freedom.

"For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." 1 cor 2:2
When you understand what He did for you, how can you settle for anything less that what He died to give you?
"The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom."
Mark 15:38

"Fruitcake and Ice cream" -Louie Giglio

"Fruitcake and Ice Cream" - a message by Louie Giglio

Have you gotten grace yet?
Louie Talks about this scripture - I love it!
2 Cor 5:13
"For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you. "
THE IDEA: when we fully get grace - grace gets us too... and when we get it it "will freak you out". When we understand the magnitude of grace (why it's called Amazing Grace) then we will just temporarily lose our minds!
We have to act "sane" in order to operate in this world - in order to communicate the message to people who haven't gotten it, so they can get it and you can both go crazy together! Ha! = )
Check it out in The Message Bible with verse 14:
"If I acted crazy, I did it for God;
if I acted overly serious, I did it for you.
Christ's love has moved me to such extremes.
His love has the first and last word in everything we do."

Verse 14 in the NIV says: "For Christ's love compels* us, because we are convinced** that one died for all, and therefore all died."
*(to Compel means 'to have a powerful and irresistible effect')
**('we ARE conviced' - aka - "we get it!")

May we never lose our passion for the sake of the Gosple, our wonder at the Cross and our joy in the love of our Creator.

Ha,ha! I love it!

I love everything about this song. I am eagerly awaiting "Hello LOVE"!!

I'm never giving up.

My God is truth.
My God's words are truth.
His words are forever.
I am in Him...

"Let all the earth fear the Lord, let all the people of the world revere Him. For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded and it stood firm. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of HIS HEART through all generations.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance. From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from His dwelling place He watches all who live on earth- He who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

No king is savcd by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; dispite all it's strength it cannot save.

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His hol y name.

May your unfailing love rest on us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you."

Psalm 33:8-22

.

I'm so tired of this world.
God, You are: "Everything I want, everything I hope in, everything my heart cries out for."*

I'm so tired of everything being okay. So tired of living for our own fame. So tired of pleasing me, pleasing man. I just want you... Jesus.

i know i am NOT... i am thankful for Him... my I AM.

I am thoughtful, thankful and amazed as I again realize the WONDEROUS reality.
That is - God, the I AM of all creation, came down to this earth and became a man - took on the form of an I am not. So that I could have eternal redemption. He came - he became flesh and "moved into the neighborhood"*.
So, we "beheld" His glory... We where able to touch Him physically. And spiritually as He bridged the gap we had created between us and God.
We held him. He held us.

This is what I mean when I say that the cross never ceases to amaze me.
This is how we have hope always - Rescue came! Once and for all - forever!
And this is why this blog is called - i am not.
Without you, Jesus, i am nothing - thank you for what you have done for me!

For more on this: see Louie Giglio's book - I am not but I know I AM. If you haven't read it -you need to.

underground

Speaking about Christians around the world who are pursecuted for their faith, TobyMac said -
“These are the people who are changing our world by refusing to lay aside their relationship with Jesus for the mere sake of being accepted.”
And that got me thinking - these people stand up for Jesus under the threat of losing their lives, being imprisioned and tortured, or having their families taken away - and yet they still do it.
How can we, in all the freedom we possess, so easily lay aside our relationship with Jesus for
" the mere sake of being accepted."?

unchanging

For those in darkness, for those in dispair. For those in the valley, for those in the pit. For everyone who's searching for answers: Know that the GOD who stood before time, the One who knew every day of your life, the Star Breather, the Matchless One, He has always been and He is never changing...

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17 NIV

Not one earth-shattering thing that we go through shakes his Kingdom, or rattles His throne. He IS the answer when we can't find any. He is the Rock that is not shaken by earth's circumstance. He stood before creation and His throne will know no end.

From the beginning of creation through eternity, He remains the same.

In tragedy or victory His cross triumphs, proclaiming His unending Love
.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,' says the Lord.
And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.' " Is 55:8 NLT

For at the Cross - the darkest hour of creation where God took on the sins of the world - becoming sin for us, being cursed that we might be blessed - there, in that darkness, that hopelessness, God's eternal love was shown to us once and for all. Mercy triumphed over judgement and Life triumphed over the grave, proclaiming that everything in Heaven and on the earth has been placed under His feet - even death lost it's power.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." Is 53:5-12 NIV

Everything He (God) does is out of Love for he cannot separate Himself from it - for He IS Love.
This God is bigger than our imagination - indescribable.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. " Jer 29:11 NLT

That God stands through tragedy.
That God heals the untouchable
That God speaks judgement and Love in one.
That God sees our deepest needs.
That God is alive and well and REAL to all who call on His Name.

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Jer 29:13 NIV

"O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you,my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. " Psalm 63:1-4

all things

“No pit is so deep that the love of God is not deeper still" - Corey Ten Boom

If my God has gone so far as to conquer death,
than He has certainly put everything else under His feet.

"...Death has been swallowed up in victory.
Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?
The sting of death is sin,
and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God!
He gives us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ" 1 cor 15:54b-57 NIV

"I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that
you may know the hope to which he has called you,
the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
And God placed all things under his feet
and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way." Eph 1:18-23 NIV

going after something....

Think about the power of a group of believers coming together and "going after Jesus"
Church and our Christian gatherings can so easily become a social club - so easily be about me and mine rather than Him.
When we come to worship, if we would literally throw ourselves away and truly embrace him, we and the people around us would be changed...
When one person seeks Him He promises He will come - imagine a whole group of people going after Him. He's going to show up! And, He will do what only He can do - Jesus is the only one who is going to change people. So, if we truly want people;s lives changed we need to forget about ourselves and go wholeheartedly after Jesus - that's where we'll be healed and transformed. That's where people will find freedom - that's where we will all come alive.

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jer 29:13

"If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?" Exodus 33:15-16

seek you... always

This is sort of a continuation of the last blog post - it's been my 'theme' lately...

Wherever I go - I go for You, My God.
In that place nothing else matters.
No one's words matter - for You have spoken.
You have given freedom and life.
It's not about me anymore.

My God always comes through.
He answers in the most amazing ways.
I will serve Him always.

again..." the more I seek You, the more I find You. The more I find You, the more I love You."

Still seeking always,

Anna

Seek You...

The more I seek you,the more I find you
The more I find you, the more I love you

I wanna sit at your feet
drink from the cup in your hand.
Lay back against you and breathe, feel your heart beat
This love is so deep, it's more than I can stand.
I melt in your peace, it's overwhelming - The More I seek You

I want to die to myself so You can live through me.
I want to pursue You to my death ( death of self)
I will seek your face...
"My heart says of you, 'Seek his Face!' Your face, Lord, I will seek." Ps. 27:8

Above All Else

Jesus, my passion in life is to know You/May all other goals bow down to This journey of loving You more
Jesus, You’ve showered Your goodness on me/ Given Your gifts so freely But there’s one thing I’m longing forHear my heart’s cry/ And my prayer for this life

Above all else
Above all else
Above all else... Give me Yourself

Savior, the more that I see Your beauty/ The more that I glimpse Your glory My heart is captured by You Jesus, You are my greatest treasure/ Nothing this world can offer Could ever compare to You So, hear my heart’s cry/ And my prayer for this life - Above All Else, Vicky Beeching

He gives us all of Him, in exchange for all of us... it is such an unfair trade. But that is mercy: giving us what we don't deserve.
Above all else, Above all else, above all else give me Yourself
Above everything we want, and all this world hands us - just give us Jesus.
and I can see the Father singing this back to us...
Above all else, Above all else, above all else give Me yourself.
He wants our hearts... if He has our hearts then he has us. First and foremost, before anything we can do for Him, He wants relationship with us...

Above all else, give Me yourself.

Wherever you are...

so... maybe no one is reading this... maybe I'm putting these "thoughts" out there available anywhere around this planet through the world wide web... and perhaps not a single soul is reading them... if you are I'd sure like to know. But, regardless of who or where you may be , here goes...

It's Easter today and you might be on top of the world... or you might be struggling to stand tall.
Well, congratulations. Today is the day we celebrate the resurrection. Not only is this event part of the very foundation of our faith, but it also was the place in history where God chose to step into time and take the punishment for every sin of man for all time. He defeated death and took the keys of hell giving us the final victory - in this life and through eternity.

His love knows no boundries! No matter where you are today, or where you have been NOTHING can come between the love of our God and you. He went to great lengths to save us. Rescue came and that is the beautiful thing today, wherever you are...

"...we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom 8:37-39

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Rom5:8

"When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory.""Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Cor 15:54-57

Grace... it is amazing...

Amazing grace! (how sweet the sound)
That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ’d!

There is something so inspiring, so invigorating about the story portrayed in the movie "Amazing Grace"... I could write a whole ton about everything that William Wilberforce himself accomplished, but for now I'm going to focus on the words of John Newton.

Grace. The whole concept is crazy. It is amazing.

What is the sound of grace? I hear it as the song of the redeemed from all nations, in every tounge singing to the One who gave us grace, which is the: "freely given, unmerited favor and love of God" even as the fithly, broken wretches that we are. It is the story of rescue.
It's what makes us stand in awe that we are so infinitely loved by the pure One. It's the hope of eternity made sure. It's the arms of a loving Father opened wide. It is beauty in a broken world. Light in a fallen world.

Now these words ring out with such power - the power of a fallen soul made whole. The depth of gratitude and love... the one who has been forgiven much loves much...

My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, Amazing grace

So, let the words of life, the words of hope, ring true with you tonight...

"Therefore, there is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death." Rom8:1

"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Heb4:16

Pray

3/04/ 08

"My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek." Ps. 27:8

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. " Eph 6:18

Proverbs 15:29 says: "... he hears the prayer of the righteous. "

Dont be discouraged in your prayers... Read this: http://268blog.blogspot.com/2008/03/seoul-rising.html

We are apart of an army all around the world. We are not alone. We speak in many different languages around this earth and we are all heard. So, dont underestimate the power of your prayers no matter how insufficient they may seem to you at the moment. Press on!

THE PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN IS POWERFUL AND AFFECTIVE. James 5:16

3/05/08

Prayer is something you can do - wherever you are, whoever you are - and it has power. You can be the most renowned speaker or a simple house wife. Your age, status, influence or language matters little. It is your FAITH that counts.

Hebrews 11:6 NIV
" And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him Must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

Prayer reaches beyond social, political & physical boundries we cannot cross.
God is not bound by time zones, political or geographical lines.

Ephesians 6:12 NKJ
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

"This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it—the LORD is his name: 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Jer 33:2-3 NIV

"For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Eph 1:15-23 NASB

"The Grand Assumption"

" 'DONT ASK WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS. ASK WHAT MAKES YOU COME ALIVE AND GO DO IT. BECAUSE WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS IS PEOPLE WHO HAVE COME ALIVE.' - Howard Thurman... within each us is God-wired uniqueness, something that makes us feel more alive than breath itself. To embrace that uniqueness it is the first step to radiating light.
But it's not enough to simply do what makes us feel alive. We must exploit our uniqueness in a way that broadcasts Jesus, the one name the world can't live without" - (Taken from article "the grand assumption" written by Louie Giglio, CCM magazine, september 2007)

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Col 3:17 NIV

Falling for you...

leelandbanner

A childlike love I had When we first began
We ran and I fell behind I’ve been stuck here all this time
You waited like a lover Who couldn’t let go of his bride
I turned my back away from You Didn’t shed a tear or cry

But I’m falling for You now
I’m coming back to the place where we parted
It’s for real this time
So I’ll be here waiting where we started

My feet were bruised
I tried but I couldn’t fill Your shoes
I went my way I bought the lie
that I was all grown up Didn’t need You in my life

The winter left me cold and frozen Looking for the truth
But searching for the sun I found the place where I met You
It feels so good To be in Your arms
You never left me I just chose to stay behind
I want to thank You for Your love That gives me freedom
To run back, to come back - Falling for You (LEELAND, Opposite Way)

If you haven't heard the album - buy it, you will be blessed.

Feeling insuffient?

"Complete weakness and dependance will ALWAYS be the occation
for the spirit of God to manafest His Power" - Oswald Chambers

(Thanks to Matt Redman: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPxdGioax3Q )

Chew on that for awhile.....

"what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that You care for him?" ps.8:4

"But God demonstates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, christ died for us." Rom 5:8

... where sin increased grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" Rom5:20b-21
